Q.  Why do we put “feet” on our custom cabinets while most factory cabinets come with bases that are a part of the cabinet’s back and sides?

A.  We, like some other “high-end” custom cabinet manufacturers, use feet primarily for two reasons:  They make the installation more precise and stable than do the shims used with most factory cabinets; and the feet keep all of the wood in the cabinet away from the floor and any moisture that may be on there.

Q.  Why do we offer our custom cabinets only with solid ¾” thick Maple dove-tail construction drawer boxes?

A.  Solid ¾” thick Maple dove-tail construction drawer boxes are the best the industry offers; these boxes will last for decades and demonstrate the craftsmanship and attention to detail that is incorporated in your custom cabinets.

Q.  Why do our custom cabinets come exclusively with Blum Tandem drawer slides with blumotion soft-close action and a capacity of 75# dynamic load on all of our drawers and pullouts?

A.  The Blum Company makes the finest drawer slides in the industry.  These drawer slides open and close smoothly, they support more weight than an average person would ever put into a drawer, and will last for years.  They are worth the difference we pay to include them in all of our custom cabinets.

A.  Plywood will be stronger and less susceptible to water damage than will particle board.  While American-made maple plywood costs us more, we know in exchange for that that it is more predictable than will the Chinese made alternatives on the market; the wood species are more “known” and the adhesives are more reliable, and we eliminate our concern about the plywood delaminating.  We also like the fact that the interior of your cabinets will be an actual wood veneer, and not a vinyl “photograph” of wood that can peel off over time.

Q.  Why do we use dado joints all around our cabinets incorporating both wood glue and hot melt glue in all of our joints?

A.  First of all, we are cabinet makers – some of the few “craftsmen” left in American industry; we know that the right kind of joinery adds integrity, longevity and strength to our cabinets - and also because it allows us to
